Pembukaan Program Pemberdayaan MGMP Tahun 2011

Pada hari senin tanggal 25 Agustus 2011, MGMP Bahasa Inggris, Fisika, Kimia, biologi, Geografi dan Sosialogi SMA Kabupaten Jepara mengadakan kegiatan pembukaan program pemberdayaan MGMP tahun 2011. Kegiatan ini merupakan salahsatu bentuk kegiatan MGMP yang didanai oleh LPMP jawa tengah.

Pada pembukaan kali ini, dihadiri oleh Kepala Dinas Pendidikan Pemuda dan Olah raga Kabupaten Jepara, Bapak Drs. Mohammad Zahid, M.Pd, yang menyampaikan sambutan sekaligus membuka secara resmi kegiatan pemberdayaan MGMP.

Selain itu, dihadiri juga Sekertaris Dinas Pendidikan Pemuda dan Olah raga Kabupaten Jepara, Bapak Drs. Abdul Muiz, MM. yang menyampaikan materi kebijakan Dinas Pendidikan Pemuda dan Olah raga Kabupaten Jepara, dalam upaya peningkatan mutu dan kualitas pendidikan di kabupaten Jepara. Dalam pemaparan beliau, Pak Muiz menyatakan bahwa Wajib belajar 9 tahun merupakan hak setiap warga negara, oleh sebab itu semua stake holder harus mensukseskan.

Selanjutnya beliau memaparkan bahwa terdapat berbagai permasalahan pada beberapa tingkat pendidikan yang harus kita tangani bersama, dan disampaikan juga berbagai upaya yang dilakukan pemerintah untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan dan juga pemerataan pendidikan.

Dalam pemaparan beliau, terdapat sebuah kutipan yang patut kita renungkan bahwa "PENDIDIKAN BERMUTU BUTUH GURU PROFESIONAL YANG SEJAHTERA DAN BERMARTABAT.

Teachers' Roles

1) Assessor

Shaping the Way We Teach English at University of Oregon

Overview

Shaping the Way We Teach English is a video-based training product for English language educators. It has 14 modules (topics). The videos showcase classroom scenes from around the world and have an accompanying training manual plus additional readings.

The University of Oregon developed and produced the materials through funding from the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Office of English Language Programs ©2007. All materials are free of charge and copyable for non-commercial educational use.

The 58th TEFLIN International Conference at IKIP PGRI Semarang

After holding the 57th International conference at UPI Bandung (see this link), The Association of Teacher of English as Foreign Language in Indonesia (TEFLIN) will hold its the 58th conference at IKIP PGRI Semarang. Call for Papers
The dynamic world life and the strategic roles of teaching English, especially to young learners, always encourage a greater need to revitalize the practice of teaching English to Young Learners in Indonesia (TEYLIN). In response to the need, the Committee of 1st National Conference on ELT and Culture at UMK calls for presentation and workshop proposals of the conference to be held in the campus of English Education Department, Muria Kudus University at Kudus (located in the slope of Muria Mountain about 50 kilometers from Semarang, the Capital of Central Java). The presentation may include theoretical and/or empirical (research-based) papers of TEYLIN. Workshops are also welcome. English is the official language for the presentations and submissions of the conference.

Finally I get the certificate

After attending 7 of 10 Webinar held by Shaping The Way We Teach English of Office of Language Program BECA- U.S. Department of state, finally I got my certificate.
It was nice experience joining a distance training with English Teacher around the world, and share my experience with JETA members.

The Office of English Language Programs in Washington D.C. is pleased to invite you to participate in a webinar course entitled Shaping the Way We Teach English. The 10 online seminars of the course cover a variety of topics and are intended for teachers of English or future teachers of English around the world. Participants are encouraged to attend live and to join the associated Ning, where you may view or download video and other materials from the sessions.
