im an aussie married for 9 years to an indonesian lady. we have 3 kids and would like for them to experience their indonesian heritage/culture for a year or two while they are still young and it wont effect their schooling.
the children would learn the indonesian language, go to a native school, and interact with their relatives. there are other activities available to them also that are attractive..ie; music lessons, martial arts, etc.
the plan is that i get a job teaching emglish. i have done this before in china in 2001. however, i had, and have no qualifications. the requirements to my knowledge are that i complete a tesol course. a search yesterday shows there are a few levels of tesol.
my question is; what level of tesol do i need complete, for indonesian immigration to be happpy that i work as a teacher there? 'foundation' level, or 'certificate 3' ?
also, as my wife is an indonesian national, should i apply for a spouse visa with work rights? or a simple work visa?
my first choice would be to teach in karimunjava. however, if that isnt possible we would look at jepara as an alternative.
